Dargavel Residents Association Posts

Further to our post earlier in the week there have been discussions with Virgn Media about the possiblity of them offering business broadband within areas of Dargavel Village that are currently uncabled.  They are in the process of arranging a survey so anyone who is interested should register their interest as soon as possible by emailing so that they can be included in the survey.   Ultimately the more people who are interested in this service the lower the overall installation cost.

I’ve copied Mairi Jackson’s post from the facebook page for information purposes below.

Dargavel in the news

Following further discussions with BT, Mairi Jackson has posted an update on the Bishopton Community Fibre Partnership page on Facebook so we’re replicating that detail here for those who may not be members of the Facebook page.

Discussions with BT seem to be gathering pace and it would be helpful if as many residents as possible completed the survey to share their opinion, see below for details.

Important information on the future of the Dargavel Development.

There will be a public consultation on the 7th December in the community centre, this will outline plans to re-zone the 3 large industrial plots in Dargavel to Residential, this will add around 1100 more homes to the current plan for 2800.

The timing for the event has now been confirmed as 3pm – 7pm.

Image shows the three parcels H23/H24/H25 that are intended to be re-zoned as residential.

As a result of a generous offer from both BAE Systems and our RMG factors we have two £50 gift vouchers to give away.  It has been decided to arrange a free prize draw that is open to all residents living within the Dargavel Village development boundary.  The draw will take place on the day of the scheduled lighting of the Christmas tree, which is being organised by RMG. Once the date for this has been announced we will advertise it on both the Dargavel Facebook page and this website.

The terms and conditions of entry are as follows:

  • The draw is open to all households within the Dargavel Village development boundary, who have registered and have had their account approved on the Residents Association website www.dargavel.net.
  • Only one entry per Dargavel Village household.
  • No purchase is necessary.
  • The draw will take place on the day of the lighting of the Christmas tree provided by the factors RMG.
  • The winners will be notified by email.
  • BAE and or RMG may ask to arrange to present the gift voucher to the winning person.
  • The promoters of the free prize draw are the executive committee of the Dargavel Village Residents Association and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Residents Association wish to extend a warm welcome to all residents of Dargavel Village.

The Residents Association was set-up to provide a voice for the residents of Dargavel, working with our factor (RMG) and the developer (BAE), to ensure that we receive the best possible services within our new development and the wider Bishopton, for the benefit of everyone in the community.

We are represented on the Residents Committee by residents from most of the parcels within the development but we would encourage everyone to participate as much or as little as you can.

If you are willing to volunteer a little time or if you have any skills that you think would be of benefit to the Association don’t be shy, we’d be delighted to hear from you.  It’s also a great way to get to know fellow residents and make new friends!

Feel free to contact the secretary on or alternatively contact your local Parcel Representative(s), see Committee Biographies for further information.

For more information on the Residents’ Association and the Committee feel free to explore the website, we post minutes from our meetings and other information that we think may be of interest to residents.  If there is any information that you would like to see on the website or any new features that you think would be useful feel free to drop us a line at with any suggestions.
