Extract from recent BAE Systems update:
Welcome to our August update. It has been a busy start to the summer and work across the site is progressing well. Over the coming month, we will be continuing our preparations of the retail hub area ahead of construction starting later this year and will be resurfacing the carriageway on Birch Road and Station Road.
August updates:
- We are making good progress on the construction of the new link road into the area that will become the retail hub. We expect the link road will be open to construction vehicles later this month to enable preparations to be made ahead of work beginning on the first retail units
- Starting on Monday 13 August, we will be undertaking works on Birch Road and Station Road. These will last for approximately six weeks and will include the resurfacing of the carriageway. There will be some disruption to both Birch Road and Station Road during this time, and access to the car park will controlled by a traffic management system
