Extract from recent BAE Systems update:

Welcome to our May update on Dargavel Village. We’re continuing to make good progress as we head towards summer and our key updates for the month are noted below.

  • Morgan Sindall, our main contractor for the new M8 junction, has introduced a 30mph speed limit on the A8 between Barrangary Roundabout and the Red Smiddy Roundabout as part of the ongoing works. We advise drivers to continue checking www.roadworksscotland.org for updates.
  • Dargavel Village is a residential development and we would like to remind all drivers that there is a 20mph speed limit throughout the village.
  • Last month, we were delighted to learn that Dargavel Village won the ‘Excellence in Planning for Homes – Large Schemes’ award at the prestigious Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence 2019. This is a UK-wide award, recognising the positive economic and environmental impact of the Dargavel Village development on Renfrewshire and its surrounding area, and is a credit to everyone who has worked with us in making the development the success it is today.
  • Our spring newsletter is now available and residents should soon receive a copy through their doors. You can also view the newsletter online in the news and events section of our website: www.baesystems.com/bishopton.

ANNOUNCEMENT ISSUED TODAY TO DARGAVEL HOMEOWNERS BY RMG

Received via RMG Living portal

Dear Homeowners

As part of our continuing efforts to improve communication channels between RMG Scotland and homeowners at Dargavel Village, we are launching a series of Drop – In Surgeries.

These surgeries are intended to provide an opportunity to meet your appointed Property Manager in person to discuss matters relating to your development. The second of these surgeries will take place at 3.00 pm until 5.00 pm on Monday 19th of November.

We envisage allocated time slots of 15 minutes per customer to restrict waiting times, and availability will be on a first come first served basis. Should we find our Drop-In Surgery’s become popular, we will look to increase frequency / duration in due course.

I will be at Lorimers Bar & Restaurant 70 Greenock Road, Bishopton, PA7 5JB from 3.00pm to 5.00pm with RMG Scotland signage displayed on my table and look forward to meeting with you.

Please note that these drop-in surgeries are offered in addition to evening meetings RMG Scotland already attend, and appointments that are arranged with Homeowners directly on request.

Details of the drop-in surgery have also been made available on Twitter @RMGScotland.

Kind Regards

Gordon Howie
Property Manager
Dargavel Village.

At our request RMG have recently provided a Frequently Asked Questions document to provide clarity to Dargavel residents on RMG’s role as factors for the estate and the individual parcels and what activities they undertake on behalf of residents.  This has been issued to all residents via the RMG portal and can also be downloaded here:

The snow plough attended Dargavel yesterday but was unable to venture into many of the side roads due to its size and cars blocking its path at certain points.

BAE have confirmed that a JCB snow plough will be attending this morning to clear the side roads within the estate.  It is currently on site at Dargavel north and will be working its way through the village.

Given that it is still quite a large vehicle please be aware that it will only be able to clear streets where it can safely gain access.  If there are any cars blocking roads or double parked in such a way that the roads are narrowed please either move them if they belong to you and it is safe to do so or locate the owner to move them if you can please.

Our thanks go to BAE for arranging this at their own cost given that the snow is likely to take some time to disappear otherwise.

The Residents Committee have been in contact with BAE this morning and they have confirmed that a gritter/snowplough is on its way to clear the main roads and put down more grit.

We’ve asked if they can clear as many of the side streets within Dargavel as they can and we’re grateful to BAE for agreeing to do this and at no charge to the residents in light of the exceptional weather conditions.

Thankfully the worst of the snow should soon be over if the forecast is to be believed but the temperature is expected to remain close to freezing over the next few days so it may take a little while for the snow to thaw.  BAE’s efforts in clearing the roads should hopefully allow things to get back to normal sooner than would otherwise be the case.

We’d also like to pass on our thanks on behalf of the community to the individuals who have gone above and beyond over the last few days to support their fellow residents, fantastic to see such a great community spirit developing in the village!

BAE

BAE Systems have confirmed that they gritted Slateford Road, Craigton Drive and Barrangary Road overnight.  They recognise that there is a need for further gritting this morning and are currently en route to do this.  The gritter is currently stuck on the M77 but they will be back on site as soon as possible to do another grit of the main roads.
