BT have now issued a quote for the upgrade to cabinet 5 to enable fibre broadband for Dargavel North as posted by Mairi Jackson on the facebook group. The crowdfunding page to allow this to happen is now live and we have until 31 August to raise the funding to allow the cabinet upgrade to proceed.
Further information is available on the facebook group if necessary.
Mairi has helpfully put together a spreadsheet of all the properties served by cabinet 5, this can be viewed by clicking the following link:

Thanks to Mairi Jackson for all her hard work on behalf of the residents who are served by cabinet 5.
Further to our post earlier in the week there have been discussions with Virgn Media about the possiblity of them offering business broadband within areas of Dargavel Village that are currently uncabled. They are in the process of arranging a survey so anyone who is interested should register their interest as soon as possible by emailing so that they can be included in the survey. Ultimately the more people who are interested in this service the lower the overall installation cost.
I’ve copied Mairi Jackson’s post from the facebook page for information purposes below.

Following further discussions with BT, Mairi Jackson has posted an update on the Bishopton Community Fibre Partnership page on Facebook so we’re replicating that detail here for those who may not be members of the Facebook page.
Discussions with BT seem to be gathering pace and it would be helpful if as many residents as possible completed the survey to share their opinion, see below for details.

As a result of a generous offer from both BAE Systems and our RMG factors we have two £50 gift vouchers to give away. It has been decided to arrange a free prize draw that is open to all residents living within the Dargavel Village development boundary. The draw will take place on the day of the scheduled lighting of the Christmas tree, which is being organised by RMG. Once the date for this has been announced we will advertise it on both the Dargavel Facebook page and this website.
The terms and conditions of entry are as follows:
The Police Scotland Community Policing unit have passed on some Awareness leaflets to share with our membership regarding road safety:
BAE Systems have recently published the following update confirming progress to date on the Dargavel development and also setting out some changes to the masterplan in terms of zoning and also the timescales in which certain parts of the masterplan are to be delivered.
