We have recently been notified that RMG have arranged parcel AGMs for 2019 for the completed parcels with Dargavel. Each meeting will last up to one hour and will be held on the evenings of 28th and 29th October at Ingliston Country Club. These meetings, as required in the deed of conditions for each parcel, will allow RMG to present the budget for 2020 for each parcel and any discuss any current issues within each parcel.

It is important that sufficient residents either attend these meetings or appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf as the parcel deed of conditions state that there must be a majority of residents present for each parcel AGM to be effective. If insufficient residents attend, RMG will require to postpone the meeting and arrange a further date to reconvene in December which will result in additional expense for the residents and of course wasted time for those that do attend. If you haven’t yet responded to RMG using the supplied form please do so now. These can be either posted to RMG or alternatively emailed back to

Parcel AGM Dates

Monday 28 October:

6pm – H6 Cala

7pm – H2 Persimmon/Charles Church (North)

8pm – H3 Taylor Wimpey (North)

Tuesday 29 October

6pm – E4/E4B – Persimmon (South)

7pm – H5 Taylor Wimpey (South)

8pm – H4B Stewart Milne

If your parcel is not listed above it is likely that your parcel is still in the process of construction and not yet handed over in full to RMG for management. As a result there is no obligation to hold an AGM at this stage. RMG confirm that they may hold an informal meeting for the parcels nearing completion in due course (e.g. H1/H7 Persimmon North and H10 Taylow Wimpey).

Election of Parcel Representatives

In addition to the annual budget process, RMG will also hold an election process to allow three parcel representatives to be appointed for each parcel for the year ahead in line with the deed of conditions. These representatives will act for their parcel in terms of dealing with local parcel specific issues and also attend quarterly Committee meetings. At these quarterly Committee meetings, all parcel representatives come together and meet with RMG and occasionally the local community police officers to discuss issues affecting Dargavel village. Our aim as a Committee is to represent all residents of Dargavel and ensure that we hold RMG, the developers and BAE to account for the benefit of all current and future residents of Dargavel.

If you are interested in serving on the Committee or representing your local parcel please do attend your parcel AGM and put your name forward. We will be delighted to welcome some new members to the Committee.

The Secretary of the Bishopton Community Development Trust has recently been in touch with the Residents Committee following the questionnaire that was circulated around Bishopton regarding the potential development of Holm Park and/or other projects within the village.

He has advised that the recent Bishopton Community Development Trust Survey Questionnaire revealed an interest in more Indoor Badminton Courts and has asked that we provide some information to residents in case there is interest currently from within Dargavel in badminton facilities.

If this is of interest to anyone then, if they would like to get in touch with the Community Centre or the Cornerstone, there are facilities available currently that could accommodate another local badminton group.

At present we understand that there is a Ladies only badminton group that meets at the Community Centre on Monday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon and on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 pm. Contact details can be provided if any ladies are interested in joining the existing group.

If there is interest in starting up a further badminton group that is open to all there is availability within the Community Centre, available slots and cost can be confirmed directly by the convener Alison Russell on There is also potential availability on a Friday afternoons and Saturdays within the Cornerstone at £15 per hour although posts and nets would have to be obtained. Availability at the Cornerstone can be obtained from Ruby Gray by email at or by telephone on 01505 862583.

Feel free to comment on this post to express an interest so that numbers can be established.

RMG have advised that they will be holding a further drop in surgery for Dargavel Residents on 25 March at 3pm in Lorimers.

They advise that these surgeries are intended to provide an opportunity to meet your appointed Property Manager in person to discuss matters relating to your development. The surgery will take place from 3.00 pm until 5.00 pm on Monday 25th March. They envisage allocated time slots of 15 minutes per customer to restrict waiting times, and availability will be on a first come first served basis.

Should the Drop-In Surgeries become popular, they will look to increase frequency / duration in due course.  Gordon Howie, the Property Manager for Dargavel, will be at Lorimers Bar & Restaurant 70 Greenock Road, Bishopton, PA7 5JB from 3.00pm to 5.00pm.

Extract from recent BAE Systems update:

Welcome to our February 2019 update. Progress in the development continues and our updates for the month are noted below.

  • Landscaping works have started at Formakin Link within the northern area of Dargavel Village. This will open up this area of the Community Woodland Park and provide links into the wider countryside towards Formakin Estate and Whitemoss Dam. It is intended that this will be open to the public later this year.
  • The developer of the retail hub has now started building the new Sainsbury’s store together with five other retail units. It is anticipated this development will be open in August 2019.
  • We are aware there was an issue with our Freephone number this month. This has now been resolved and the line is up and running again.
  • To ease the congestion of vehicles parking on Craigton Road, we have worked with Stewart Milne Homes to provide additional contractor parking. Stewart Milne Homes are now actively monitoring and managing this issue.
  • Construction work on the new M8 junction will start again in the next few weeks. The remaining work includes road drainage, realignment of the A8 Greenock Road incorporating two new roundabouts and construction of the two new slip roads. There will be a short term disruption on the A8 and some restrictions on the motorway.

If you have any concerns or would like to speak to a member of the Programme Team, please call our freephone hotline on 0800 130 3302.

Residents within the village should now all have received their new green bins ready for the commencement of the new bin collection cycle.  Please note that bin collections within Dargavel have now moved to a Sunday collection effective 3rd December 2018.  The new collection cycle will be as follows:

Grey Bins – Every three weeks

Blue Bins – Every four weeks

Brown Bins – Every two weeks

Green Bins – Every four weeks

A copy of the council’s bin collection rota can be downloaded here

As the grey bin collection on 3rd December did not happen due to the introduction of the new collection cycle, we understand that there will be an extra unscheduled grey bin collection on Sunday 9th December so both the green and the grey bins will be collection on this date.
